The Ministry of Tourism, Government of India (Northern Region) organized a Tourism Stakeholders Conference at Institute of Hotel Management Srinagar, J&K on 12th July 2024. Ms. Manisha Saxena, IAS, Director General, Ministry of Tourism, Government of India was the chief guest. The conference featured esteemed speakers including Dr. R.K. Suman – Regional Director (North) MoT,    Mr. Raja Yaqoob Farooq – Director of Tourism Kashmir, Mr. Waseem Raja – CEO of Gulmarg Development Authority, Mr. Tariq Hussain – CEO of Pahalgam Development Authority,  Mr. Nasir Shah – Chairman IATO J&K Chapter, Mr. Ather Yameen – Chairman TAAI J&K Chapter, Mr. Sameer Baktoo – Convener of the Eco Tourism Society of Kashmir, Mr. Shamim Shah – Chairman TAFI J&K Chapter,     Mr. Manzoor Pakhtoon – Chairman Kashmir Houseboat Owners Association and Mr. Zahoor Ahmed – Chairman TTIG J&K Chapter. All the speakers shared their expert views on the different points with positive views to take the tourism in Jammu & Kashmir up to a great extend.

The DG Tourism shared information regarding the Ministry’s policies and schemes, highlighting the narrative towards sustainable development. Dr. Suman discussed ideas and efforts required for the development of tourism in J&K.       Mr. Awanish Mishra from Ministry of Tourism gave a detailed presentation on the process of registration and recognition as tourism service providers through the NIDHI+ portal. More than 100 tourism service providers participated in the conference, making the event a grand success. Ms. Seema Jain, Director (Tourism), Government of India thanked everyone for their valuable expert opinion and valuable time to make this event a grand success.
