Vietnam Airlines informed that the flight carrying the first foreign tourists to Vietnam landed at Tan Son Nhat airport at 2:40 p.m. the afternoon of March 16, just after Vietnam officially reopened international tourism from March 15, 2022.
Flight VN650 from Singapore to Ho Chi Minh City with 100 passengers, including 20 foreign nationalities.
Also on the same day, flight VN651 from Ho Chi Minh City to Singapore was recorded as the first flight carrying Vietnamese tourists under Singapore’s “Vaccinated Travel Lane”.
These flights mark a positive step forward for the aviation and tourism in the coming time.
Currently, Vietnam Airlines is operating 10 flights per week from Ho Chi Minh City to Singapore daily and from Ha Noi to Singapore on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The airline also connects Da Nang, Nha Trang, Phu Quoc with Singapore from April 15.
To prepare for the opening of international tourism from March 15, 2022, Vietnam Airlines has the plan to expand and increase the operating frequency of the all international regular flight network.
From the end of March 2022, Vietnam Airlines will increase operating to 97 flights per week to the airports of most major cities in the world, expand routes to tourist destinations.
In July 2022, Vietnam Airlines is expected to restore operations to China (6 flights/week), Indonesia (3 flights/week) and to Da Nang and Nha Trang from key markets such as Japan, Korea.
